PA Taxpayers Will Pay for Abortions, But Not Saving Babies
Details
Earlier this month Governor Josh Shapiro announced that the pro-life organization Real Alternatives would stop receiving taxpayer dollars by the end of the year. Real Alternatives, established by Democrat Governor Bob Casey, has served 350,000 Pennsylvania women and their children for 27 years with contracts from the state, providing free diapers, strollers, clothing, temporary shelter and other support services.
Shapiro said in the news release announcing the decision, “For decades, taxpayer dollars have gone to fund Real Alternatives. My Administration will not continue that pattern – we will ensure women in this Commonwealth receive the reproductive health care they deserve.”
Of course, in his mind the only ‘reproductive health care’ women need is abortion and Planned Parenthood, which stands to benefit from the end of the contract, totally agrees.
So, what taxpayer dollars has Real Alternatives received? The organization received about $30 million PA tax dollars between 2012 and 2017. Compare that to the $50 million that “reproductive health programs” received in 2020 alone!
Action Steps
Tell your State Rep and State Senator that if taxpayer dollars cannot save babies through Real Alternatives, then taxpayer dollars should not go the kill babies through “reproductive health programs”. Click here to contact them.
