URGENT: US House to Vote on Misnamed “Women’s Health Protection Act” – HR 3755

Details

Democrats once again are ignoring the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights which, under the Tenth Amendment, says, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”  States have spoken on the abortion issues and Democrats don’t like what states are saying — the majority of states support limiting abortion.   In fact, the bill’s text acknowledges this by noting, “Since 2011, States and local governments have passed nearly 500 restrictions.”   In the first four months of 2021, 536 abortion regulation bills have been introduced across 46 states.   The Democrats are terrified of pro-life gains and “the party of science” is willing to ignore science to codify Roe v Wade into law.  It would declare

  • A health care provider has a statutory right to provide an abortion
  • The patient has a corresponding right to receive an abortion
  • All existing laws that regulate abortion would be prohibited — i.e. parental consent, requirement for an ultrasound, heartbeat laws, waiting periods, pain-capable laws, etc.

Check out the text of the bill and ‘reproductive justice’:  “ Reproductive justice requires every individual to have the right to make their own decisions about having children regardless of their circumstances and without interference and discrimination. Reproductive Justice is a human right that can and will be achieved when all people, regardless of actual or perceived race, color, national origin, immigration status, sex (including gender identity, sex stereotyping, or sexual orientation), age, or disability status have the economic, social, and political power and resources to define and make decisions about their bodies, health, sexuality, families, and communities in all areas of their lives, with dignity and self-determination.  Reproductive justice seeks to address restrictions on reproductive health, including abortion, that perpetuate systems of oppression, lack of bodily autonomy, white supremacy, and anti-Black racism.

Two hundred and fourteen US House members have signed on as sponsors of the bill — all Democrats.  Eight of PA’s nine Democrat representatives signed on when the bill was introduced on June 8th  – Conor Lamb waited until September 3rd to sign on.

Action Steps

The vote is scheduled for Friday, September 24th.  Contact your US Representative here and ask him or her to vote ‘nay’ on HR 3755.  Even contact the ones who are sponsors – they need to hear from their constituents.   Passage of this bill will place women in danger and kill millions more babies.
