The Equal Rights Amendment was sent to Congress in 1972 with a seven-year time frame to get 38 states to ratify it. The goal was not reached and an extension was approved by Congress. That second goal was not reached and, at that time, the supporters of the ERA agreed it was dead. However, in today’s crazy world it has been resurrected and its proponents are saying they only need three states to ratify it in order for the ERA to become part of the US Constitution – totally ignoring the deadline has passed twice and five states have rescinded their original approval!!

The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission has overstepped its legal authority and has issued “guidance” which expands their reach. The Commission will now investigate complaints based on “sexual orientation and gender identity or expression” as a form of sex discrimination—even though the law has NOT changed! So, they will now investigate Christian businesses, such as WW Bridal Boutique, when the owners have a deeply held religious belief that engaging in homosexual acts is sin and direct the homosexual couple wanting brides’ gowns, or a “wedding” cake or flowers for their “wedding” to their competitor down the street. Also, if a business owner responds to complaints by female customers about the man in their restroom, by asking the male to use the men’s room – that owner will have a complaint filed against him. Only one commissioner sided with sanity!!

PA’s legislature will soon be back in session to finish up their work in Harrisburg. During the few days they have left before the end of the session, much good or evil can be done that will impact every Pennsylvanian. Pray that they will be wise in the votes they make and that those who want to protect life, natural family, students, taxpayer dollars, etc. will be courageous in their efforts to do so.
