Committee Vote on HB 2093 – Bill Eliminating Cross Filing of School Board Candidates

As you vote for school board candidates and you see their names listed on both the Democrat and Republican tickets, do you ever wonder to which party they belong?  The AFA of PA has tried numerous times to  create non-partisan voter guides for school board candidates, but have found very few who are willing to answer questions for a voter guide and trying to do research on their positions is almost impossible! 

If HB 2093 passes we’d at least know to which political party they are registered!!  A House State Government Committee vote on this bill is scheduled for Monday, January 10^th.    

Action Steps

If your State House member is assigned to the House State Government Committee, contact him or her to ask them to support HB 2093.    

Also, contact Representative Seth Grove (R-York), chairman of the committee, at 717-767-3947 and let him know you support this bill.   The Democratic Chair of the committee is Scott Conklin (D-Centre) and his number is 814-238-5477.
